A little history on our Secord name...

My great-grandfather, George Secord, changed our surname from Sicard to Secord. There are a couple of stories as to why he did this. One is that he had a "falling out" with his father (Adolphe Sicard) and subsequently changed the name. Another story says that he changed it because he thought he would stand a better chance of getting work with a more anglicized name. I'm certain we'll never know the real reason.
